Am Morgen den 28. Januar fuhr ich mit dem Greyhound Bus nach Whistler. Fahrplanmässige Abfahrt in Vancouver war um acht Uhr, aber ich musste 30 Minuten vor der Abfahrt schon am Terminal sein. Als ich den Busfahrplan von Vancouver studierte, bemerkte ich, dass der erste Bus erst um sieben Uhr abfährt. Wenn alles gut geht benötige ich 30 Minuten bis zum Terminal. Beim Umsteigen vom Bus zur U‑Bahn rannte ich Rekord verdächtig. Wenn es einen Wettbewerb gäbe, hätte ich die Goldmedaille auf sicher.
In Whistler brachte ich zuerst mein Gepäck zu Chrises Büro und anschliessend ging ich zur Informationsveranstaltung. Das Olympische Dorf ist ca. 8 Km von Whistler entfernt. Mit dem Bus benötigt man 15 Minuten dort hin. Um ins Olympische-Dorf zu gelangen muss man zwei Sicherheitsschleusen passieren gleich wie am Flughafen. Im Dorf herrschte ein durcheinander, denn überall wird noch gehämmert und gebohrt! Schon in wenigen Tagen soll das Olympische Dorf aber eröffnet werden.
Traveling to Whistler and information in the afternoon
I traveled to Whistler on January 28th, in the morning with the Greyhound-Bus. It was scheduled to leave Vancouver at 8 am. But I have to sty 30 minutes before the bus leaves on the bus depot. I need 30 minutes from home to the bus depot. But the first bus leaves North Vancouver at 7 am. So I sprinted from the bus to the sky train very fast. If there is a contest I had won a gold medal.
In Whistler I trooped off my luggage at Chrises office and then after I went to the information. The Olympic Village is approximately 5 mileages from Whistler. It takes 15 minutes with the bus to get there. You have to pass two safety lock similar in en air port. The village was busy, because a lot of people are working to complete the village. But soon they will open the Olympic Village.
