Da es keine Busverbindung mehr hat zwischen Pemberton und Whistler, war ich gezwungen am 1. März zu meiner Schwiegermutter nach Vancouver zuziehen. Weil in Whistler auch keine Parkplätze verfügbar sind, ist es vielen Volunteers von Pemberton nicht mehr möglich für die Paraolympiade zu arbeiten. Nun muss Vancouver 2010 Volunteers mit Bussen nach Whistler führen. Darum konnte ich Bilder von der Olympischen Flamme machen. Das Feuer wird erst für die Paraolympiade wieder angezündet. Das Gebilde steht hinter einem Zaun, da Vancouver 2010 vor Wandalen Angst hat. Nach Protesten der Bevölkerung wurden Glasfenster montiert, da durch den Maschendrahtzaun nur schwer zu fotografieren war.
Olympic fire
I had to move to Vancouver on March first, because they cut the bus between Pemberton and Whistler. Now they have to transport volunteers from Vancouver to Whistler with buses. A lot of volunteers from Pemberton quit volunteering, because in Whistler they haven’t parking spots available. Now I had time to do pictures from the Olympic fire. They turn on the flame soon for the Paralympics. The flame is behind a fence, because they are scared about bad people. While it is not good to do pictures through the fence, they put glass windows on after a lot of people protested.
